Given all the misunderstanding and (deliberate distortions by some quarters) of Pope Benedict XVI’s statement on condom use to fight HIV/AIDS, here is a short list of resources that put his words into context and spell out — quite clearly — what the Pope really said.
Don’t be surprised, however, if you don’t find anything earthshaking in these resources. The fact is that the Pope didn’t change any of the Church’s traditional teachings. He actually affirmed them.
Sadly, I don’t expect the usual anti-Catholics and Church-haters to care what the Pope really said. There are simply some people who are bent on distorting anything anyone says to suit their own agenda.
No matter. This list is for those who actually care about the truth.
